Students will be given the opportunity to work in teams to solve a complex problem in an engaging way. The problem that I would like the students to solve is designing an attachment for a mini-quadcopter that would allow for the transportation of supplies to a designated area. Students use the design process and engineering notebooks to conduct research, brainstorm, create prototypes to test, produce designs using 3D CAD software, and 3D print their final designs. This project not only allows students to use the design process, but by incorporating the use of the 3D printer, students learn about designing for manufacture in addition to end users.
