Learning to read is a challenge. There is so much that goes into learning how to read. Sight words is one of those things. With the end of the year slowly approaching we want our class to be as ready for the next level as possible. By having the sight word game, the students are given the opportunity to learn independently, through play, and it increases the chances of the students reaching the EOY goal.
My students are always ready to learn! Unfortunately, sometimes through all the excitement, our class gets a little loud due to learning applications on the tablets and students trying to hear themselves as they read independently. Utilizing the headphones and the reading phone will allow my students to focus ALL of their attention on the task at hand. It also allows our class to get a better understanding of the story they are reading and to listen for any mistakes they make.
