These materials will be used to help my students learn to regulate their emotions. When children (especially ones that have autism) feel upset, mad, sad, or overwhelmed most do not know what to do with those feelings. I want to teach my students positive ways to deal with those emotions. The Body socks and compression pillows will help my students deal with their emotions appropriately when they are unable to express what they are feeling. The body socks will be used when the students are feeling overwhelmed and need to feel the pressure and resistance on their arms, and legs. The Pillows will be used for times when the students might be sad or tired and feeling the squeezing on their hands will help them relax. The Items will be used by a majority of my students daily. With the stress and constant changed that Covid-19 have brought to my classroom my students are constantly at a higher stress level than normal.
