By providing basic sewing kits each of the students will have their own kits to work with when doing projects. The students will be learning basic sewing skills like being able to hem pants, sewing a button, how to thread the needle, what type of needle to use, and many more skills. Knowing how to sew is a very useful lifelong skill. Learning how to sew up a hole or to sew on a button could save money from students and their parents having to purchase new clothing. Sewing requires concentration, problem-solving skills, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination; it builds self-confidence, patience, discipline and brings out creativity.
