The resources are much needed for my students to be able to take very abstract concepts like fraction conversions, measurement conversions, multi-digit multiplication and division, and many other concepts and help make them a little more concrete. My goal is for my students to become empowered learners through the use of guided math manipulatives and take charge of their own learning. These resources will allow me to help students succeed and meet the wide array of ability in my classroom! The theory of experiential education revolves around the idea that learning is enhanced when students acquire knowledge through active processes that engage them (Hartshorn and Boren, 1990).
