Learning to read and write is a challenge for my students. They work hard to understand words and concepts with little background information. I hope to add art into my curriculum to give them hands-on experiences that they can then use in their reading in writing. As art is created, from concept to execution, the brain is making new connections. When new techniques are described, students are hearing new words and seeing them put into action, they are making connections. Art allows all students to feel successful, either with abstract prints or precise strokes, the opportunities to grow are endless.
