Enjoyable and appealing books will help my kindergarteners develop a passion and love for reading. I strive to have a classroom library where students learn how to choose books to read at their level, while having a wide variety of high interest books to choose from. Maintaining an organized and functional classroom library will assist students in learning the process of choosing books they can and love to read. With an organized classroom library and a wide range of books for students to choose from, students will learn the joy of reading and gain the independence of choosing their own book to read at their reading level. In addition to having an organized and leveled classroom library, students will learn how to take care of books and the basic organizational structure of our classroom library by accessing books from book bins. Books will be color coded and labeled so they understand the genre of book they are choosing to read. Practicing and developing stronger reading muscles everyday will help students learn how to read throughout the school year!
