The best way to explore aquatic biology is to get hands-on in the environment. We get the opportunity to take kids out in the field to catch insects and larvae but need more nets in order to make these trips successful. Students identify different species and learn about their environments. My students will explore the diversity of insects and research their habitat. Students will have the opportunity to catch a variety of species to research. Students spend the semester looking at pictures of different organisms and this experience allows them to get hands-on exposure. As a class, we look at the complete collection and determine why we found each species in that particular body of water.
