Our school building was built in 1967. We do not have the electrical wiring needed to put in central a/c for the entire building. Our building is EXTREMELY hot in the first 6 weeks of school and then again starting in April. On really hot days our classroom temperature can be near 100 degrees. We have our little windows opened with 3-4 fans going at a time, but they only circulate the hot air. My students cannot focus, thus effecting their learning. They are extremely hot and tired by the second half of the day. They do receive water bottles from the district, but this is not enough. Having an a/c unit in our room will greatly help with their health and learning environment.
