My students have no formal background in health education. It is the first time that Health is offered in our dual-language k-8 school. Most of my students are second language learners. They need information given visually and engaging. My students are exposed to unhealthy lifestyles. Many are either directly or indirectly affected by the current public health issue of drug abuse and obesity. They will benefit from the DVDs along with the cooperative learning activities to help them make healthy and well-informed decisions. The human torso model is important for our students. It gives them a hands-on experience about their own bodies.
