My students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and display varying degrees of abilities, with difficulties in learning that can arise due to characteristics of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and/or emotional disturbance. Our classroom currently does not have enough Chromebooks for all of my students with autism, and we lack a place to keep them charged and secured. For some of my students, school is the only place they are able to get their work done and they all need access to technology that allows them to complete their assignments to the best of their abilities. They need speech to text and audio books, as well as other assistive technology that will enable them to succeed despite their learning challenges.
