A little over 80% of the students are Hispanic. To many, English is their second language. As we have worked in class many have expressed how they feel about making presentations. Using the computer and PowerPoint as a tool the students will present their "Our States" presentations. Every student has agreed to present their work to a small group of 5th grade students. We chose 5th grade for two reasons. The first is that this grade level studies the United States. The second is that these students will be coming middle school in the fall. All the students have committed to creating an exceptional product. The students and I discussed how important it is to be accurate with information and to make the presentation in such a way that their viewers will be engaged. All the students are very motivated to do an excellent presentation.
