The button batteries, LED lights, and copper foil tape will give my students hands on learning on how paper circuits work. My students are eager to learn new concepts, and to explore new materials. In my art room, students have access to many different media, but we are lacking in exposure to technology and how it can be used to enhance their work. Technology is a vital part of our world, as is visual communication, and I want students to see how they can be woven together. There are so many wonderful technological advances happening, almost daily. What a great way to ignite a passion at a young age for science, engineering, AND art by allowing students to apply 21st century knowledge and skills in the art room. Paper circuits are a great way to introduce students to positive and negative charges, conductive vs. non-conductive, and how science, technology, art, and design can work together.
