My students are always bringing me critters that they find! Problem is, I do not own a terrarium to house them in. The students have constantly asked me about having a class pet and even though they bring me (or catch) lizards and other small animals, I do not have a place to house these wonderful creatures. By having a home for these animals, my students will learn responsibility and care-taking skills while also observing how animals interact with their habitats. These are concepts that we cover both in biology and environmental science, making the terrariums (and the soon-to-be-critters) teachable moments for my students!
