Being an art teacher isn't as easy as it seems but I manage to keep a welcoming and inspiring environment to my students- even though they leave my classroom a mess sometimes :) I want to teach my students that art isn't just about paper and pencil but it is the message beyond that. It is the history that built up to art and the hidden details that actually make the composition rather than the main focal points. I love teaching high school because their minds are easier to mold and they absorb EVERYTHING. My students are very opinionated but very appreciative when they learn something new and can apply it outside of art. We try not to focus solely on the art history but also on how it can relate to other subjects of life. Needless to say, I try to give my students the best outlook of not only a picture or image but about life.
