My students are in need of science lab materials an equipment. My students have just got done learning how to use the Triple Beam Balance and are needing additional practice. As we approach the topic of density what better way to enrich their experiences and prepare them for furthering their science careers then teaching them how to calculate density of the various cubes. Not only will this help them to have a concrete understanding of they will be able to see their math lessons come to life and put some meaning behind what they are learning across the curriculum. By obtaining 15 sets of density cubes my students will be able to work in small groups that will give each of them the time they need to manipulate the balance and compute the density of the various cubes.
