The Scholastic Scope monthly magazines are very popular among my students due to their high interest content. They benefit my students since the magazine articles and activities cover the common core standards my students must learn in 8th grade. The magazine curriculum additionally focuses on vocabulary which is often a weakness for my students due to their ELL background. My students look forward to receiving these monthly magazines since they foster a love and interest in reading for many of my students. They look forward to the current news articles, visuals, and historical stories. The magazine subscription also includes educational videos related to the article which helps bring to life what they have read in class.
