During the previous school year, I tried to incorporate learning centers, which the students loved. However, due to the lack of resources, center time was limited. Because our library days are limited to once a week, I would love to have the resources to set up a variety of centers to help them grow the confidence they need to develop 21st century skills. You can help my students build effective: Collaboration skills - Working with a diverse group to reach a common goal Communication skills - Sharing ideas, asking questions and developing ideas with their group members Creative Skills - Using a variety of media formats and resources to invent and create Critical Thinking skills - Solving problems across varied subjects and disciplines Examples include students using Play-Doh to create a character from a story that they write, then using a computer app called PlayDoh! touch that brings their character to life. They will be able to use technology apps like Voki, so we can build our very own digital book review library that allows students to express their views on different book titles. The possibilities are endless, and your contribution helps give my students the tools they need to be competitive in a rapidly evolving 21st century world.
