My classroom serves small groups of middle school students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in a public school located in a high-poverty neighborhood. My students have mild to severe developmental disabilities and receive specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs. Over 80% of our students are from minority backgrounds, and more than 70% come from low-income households. In our classroom, we use technology to make learning accessible—helping students read, write, and communicate in ways that support their strengths and overcome barriers. With the right tools, these students can thrive academically and build confidence in their abilities.
