As a teacher of color, I work hard to bring culturally and linguistically responsive teaching and learning into my classroom. This project will put books into my students' hands that validate and affirm their home experiences and who they are. It also will open up new worlds and experiences that offer life lessons and a look into history from many perspectives. It is so important for students to feel truly apart of a classroom, and that happens when they see themselves reflected in the books that we read and that are on the classroom shelves.

About my class
