By funding this project you will be giving families books for their children at home. All the families that attend our class, Bringing Up Highly Capable Children, will get to take home books to read aloud and listen to their children read. The books will be the right reading level for each of their children. Children are excited about learning to read at school but few of our students have books at home. They need books at home to practice with their families. They learn by reading a book several times or hearing a book read to them several times. Reading at home helps increase their vocabulary and increase reading fluency and comprehension.
