My students come into the classroom with a variety of skills and reading levels. Most of my students are reading at below grade level. I want my students to have access to novels that are rich in content and vocabulary. One of the ways that my students would be able to access such content would be by reading a novel as a class. Students would be able to follow along in their own copy of the novel and we would frequently stop and check for understanding. "Wonder" is a novel that is filled with rich content that promotes empathy and kindness. By providing my students with this novel, they would have access to engaging and meaningful grade level reading!
