I work with diverse learners who need strong visuals to help them learn. The better the pictures, the more my students will speak out, and voice their opinions. During remote learning, I missed being able to read books from my personal library that I have purchased to support the themes of the classrooms I serve. Or the books that make my students laugh, like "Walter the Farting Dog". Even silly books make students work on problem solving skills, or answering preliteracy questions. Without having a classroom document camera, I was unable to share my books with the students. Sure, there are some websites that will read books aloud for students, but as a former children's librarian, I like to think that I can put a special spin on my stories and it would be nice to have your own teacher read to you even when at home.
