As kindergarten teachers, our job is to take our students from the very beginning stages of reading (concepts about print) to a level of reading fluency and understanding (level D or higher). Some of our students come to us not knowing any letters, and they must make accelerated progress so they are prepared for 1st grade. We teach at a new charter school that serves a diverse population of students. They love to come to school and learn each and every day! Our school provides a caring, academically rich experience where the children feel safe to take risks and try their very best.

About my class
