The Covid-19 pandemic has been devastating to students, educators and families. After receiving word that our school building will be open in the fall for in-person learning, I knew it was my responsibility to create a learning environment that continues to be fun with an extra-special emphasis on safety. Maximized student learning can and will be achieved despite all of the obstacles in our way during these trying times! The items in this project will help to ensure that all students have individualized access to materials to enhance their learning. Specifically, the brightly colored bins will be a personalized space for each student to keep current work, work in progress, and early finisher tasks. The Kits on the Go round carpet squares will be used to give children individualized, socially-distant space to enjoy morning meetings, math meetings, and read-alouds. The touchless hand soap dispenser will be set up near the child-sized sink to help make handwashing as safe as possible. The crayons are needed as a replenishment for the new school year and will be divided up so each child has their own set in their own pencil cup. Cleanliness and safety will be at the forefront of all lessons so that we can continue to have a robust year of learning in the place where learning is at it's best - in the classroom!
