All young children learn best through play and through connections with their teachers and each other. This is even more true for special needs students. My students thrive when they are given lots of experiences with hands on and sensory items. The light table is an example of a wonderful tool to engage them. Students are drawn to the table and this one even changes colors! As they are experimenting with different items on top of the table, we engage them with language and questions about that they see, hear, feel and are thinking. The balls and ramps will bring block play to another level as students learn about force and motion, incline and other scientific and mathematical principals. The materials in this project will provide my students with meaningful play experiences that show them learning is FUN!!
