Rugs are a necessity for whole group instruction. They create a safe, organized environment for learning. They help students feel comfortable interacting with their peers. Peer conversations are the basis of learning language skills and interacting with others. A classroom rug will build a community of learners and an engaging learning environment. It will help the classroom appear cozy and inviting. A warm environment will help my kids do their best work. Moving into a 21st century learning environment will be easier with the addition of a comfortable, colorful rug. Students often want to work on the floor, but it is hard and uncomfortable. I would like to give them flexible seating options.
