We are asking for both soil nutrient test kits and gardening tools. The soil test kits will afford them a deeper understanding of plant health and give them the opportunity to not only monitor the nutrients in the soil, but to also see the effects of deficiencies on the growth and overall health of plants. The shovels, spades and other garden tools we are seeking will help my students to till the soil, remove weeds, mix in fertilizer and prepare a proper environment for growing herbs and vegetables. The tools we are currently using have all been borrowed from my personal home garden. Donating to this project will allow our garden club to own their own set of tools to be used for years to come.
