This rug will help my students so that they can have a spot on the rug that they know is theirs. This will help them to know their responsibility, feel welcome in the classroom, and help them to concentrate during instruction. This will be a place where the students can opening their minds and grow in their education. It is helpful for my students to succeed in their learning when they have a concrete place set up for learning. This rug will give them a place to focus their attention and learn many new first grade concepts. This will also be a place where we can come together as a first grade Star of the North family! I believe that making students feel safe and comfortable is one of the first steps in learning. This rug will be a place that we can come together for morning meeting and become an even closer classroom community.
