We will be beginning our Literacy unit this week on Identifying Conflict, Theme, and Characters by reading S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. This is one of our favorite books to teach with, a classic story with themes that are still current today. Currently, we only have 75 books, but we have over 300 students! Our goal is for each of the three Literacy teachers to have a class set in our rooms (about 35 books each) so we are only about 30 books short for the year. In addition, the books we do have are getting pretty warn from years of use. We would be grateful if you'd be interested and willing to purchase a book to help complete our class sets! Thank you so much for supporting our students and school!
