I want to spark and enhance my students' learning by providing interactive, hands-on group counseling and classroom guidance learning opportunities. I want to do this by promoting personal & social development! I want to provide a classroom where students can have their sensory needs met all while they are academically learning without the use of technology, so students can takes these skills anywhere. I plan to use these resources to create a calm-down corner in my classroom, flexible and kinetics seating, and social emotional development centers. Using creative tools such as props, chairs, movement, sensory tools, and engaging social emotional materials will have lasting impact on students. I want students to experience the excitement of sensory play. Alternative to traditional seating will give kids a full range of movement and stability while learning. These materials will enhance learning because students are often visual and experiential learners. Using these techniques will bring new life to my counseling classroom and counseling sessions. Students will walk away with an image to remind them of the concepts they should practice. These techniques can have the same impact in the classroom as well. Sensory tools are intended to promote regulation, improve focus, increase participation, and therefore enable students to be available for learning! The key to a sensory-informed classroom is that it supports the various sensory needs of the students in the classroom in a way that is as natural as possible. Physical activity has positive impacts on the bran. Incorporating physical activity in the classroom can lead to enhance memory, learning, and student motivation. Flexible seating enables higher concentration.
