I am asking for materials that will allow my students to access information from the Chromebooks in class. Not all students are used to navigating a laptop so the hope is that with this added technology students can begin to make the transition from desktops to laptops. The requested wireless mice and keyboards will allow students who are familiar with a traditional desktop PC to still be able to navigate and type on the Chromebooks we have in class. The Chromebook stand will assist one of my students who has a vision problem. By using the stand my hope is to be able to position the Chromebook in a way that reduces glare and makes it easier to read. Last but not least, my goal with the wireless headphones is to assist my students with learning disabilities, along with helping my English as a Second Language students. By having a pair of wireless headphones these students can listen to computer programs that will read them the text as they follow along on the screen. The cases will help us protect the two Chromebooks we have in class so that students will be able to use them for years to come, and the charger is for charging (We only got one charger for the two Chromebooks we have. This will allow us to charge our Chromebooks faster). For those students who struggle, the resources from this project will allow them to do the work that's needed. As students leave sixth grade and get ready for the world beyond our room, the ability to use and access technology is crucial. Hopefully, in completing this project my class will be better ready for what awaits them in the coming years.
