"In Academics, Building, Community, Diversity, and Educators...We Are the One!" Our school motto sets high standards and expectations for students and teachers alike. That is why we need Breakout EDU in our fourth grade classroom.
I want to breakout of the traditional learning model by making learning fun and exciting for each and every student, regardless of their background or "level." Our Breakout Kits will be used amongst our 4th grade team to provide students with an exciting, cross-curricular set of challenges. The use of Breakout boxes gives students the opportunity to work together (building teamwork skills), to use logic and critical thinking skills that will help them throughout life, and to utilize technology as a learning tool instead of just a "toy."
The Breakout EDU learning model is one that provides students with multiple opportunities to "fail forward" by requiring students to keep working through puzzles and problems instead of giving up when they get wrong answers. In a world of standardized testing, this grit and stamina will help them throughout school and into college/adulthood. Skills strengthened by breakout challenges will aid students throughout their lives! Please help us breakout of the boring and start thinking outside the box!
