As students develop into independent readers, these engaging books will aid in developing their reading lifes. I want to build a love for reading early on with my 8 and 9 year old students. I have noticed over the years an increased in popularity towards graphic novels. If you aren't familiar with what graphic novels are, they are novels written in comic-strip format. I would like to use these graphic novels during small group instruction and conferring time. Eventually, I would like to get more than one copy of the graphic novels, to utilize during book clubs!
