The addition of an iPad in our classroom will allow students to access grade-level text through audio books, independently practice specific skills during our center rotations, and help create a love of reading. While technology is not a substitute for teaching, after spending many hours researching various apps, I've found a library of apps that support good instruction. During our center rotations, students will be able to independently practice applying skills and strategies, allowing me to provide targeted instruction for other students. Since many of my students do not have access to similar technology at home, it will also provide them with a time and place to interact with current technology. In a digital world, it is important for my students to be able feel comfortable and confident using technology. At the end of the day, the most important thing we can do for our students is help them develop a love of reading and a passion for learning. Your generous donation will help my students on their journey to be life long learners.
