With limited time and space in Kindergarten, it is necessary to integrate as much as possible. STEAM activities are one way to integrate the Arts and Technology with our Science, Math and Literacy curricula. These activities around the light table will also give Kindergarteners opportunities to collaborate and cooperate, which are important skills for our 21st Century learners. The light table and the accompanying crystal connectors, see-thru alphabet set and other manipulatives will be just a beginning of endless possibilities in problem solving in Engineering, Science, Math and Visual Arts. Kindergarteners need multi-sensory experiences and opportunities for maximum learning. The light table will be used not only with the donated manipulatives, but with an endless array of science and art materials to support our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math Standards. Yes, we do all of that in Kindergarten!
