This Nature Alphabet Rug will be the centerpiece of my classroom! There are several times during the day that my class gathers together on the rug, beginning each day with the morning meeting as we greet each other and share our thoughts. Throughout the the day, we reconvene at our gathering place to share ideas, make plans, learn new strategies, listen to stories, and work on social development skills. The specific design of this rug will help my students have an identifiable square with a defined space that is their very own! Important features for my young students are the the giant alphabet and shapes that can keep them looking and learning. It supplies a theme for learning, putting nature as a central focus throughout our school year.
