My students need books, including Fives Senses, Life Cycles and Growing Things Theme Book Libraries for our library and Lakeshore Storytelling Kits Sets One and Two, to help them become more active in the story. Sometimes when students can act out what they hear or see it becomes more real! Our students need the opportunity to experience books as they are told. When they are able to act out the stories they have heard it helps them become more aware of what the story is about. They love to tell stories so story kits give them the opportunity to act out the story. Books are so important in a child's life if they like to read or look at books at an early age they will become avid readers as they get older. Some of my students do not have books at home and have never heard stories being read to them. I would like to be able to pass on to them my love for books!
