My Project My special education classroom has only one desktop teacher computer in it. With the addition of the requested Apple Macbook Air, I would be able to provide small group and 1:1 technology lessons to my students with special needs, which allows my students to complete multiple tasks during the day. By allowing my students to have access to technology, it further helps their literacy and math concepts in a fun and technologically advanced way. This laptop will also be used for a listening to reading station during literacy. With our state standardized testing being done on computers, the more access and familiarity with technology, helps close the gap to not being fluent on a learning tool. 95% of my students come from high poverty homes where there is no technology. These kids come in with minimal resources. As their teacher, it's my job to provide these young minds with a variety of learning tools. With the lack of funds we are unable to provide this type of technology to our students.
