My students have found a new love for reading. Everyday, students are intrigued by the texts we read together and individually. However, students have a hard time getting comfortable as they dive into the wonderful worlds inside their books. While our classroom does have a carpet, students struggle with finding the right spot to focus on their reading. By providing them with the wobble chairs, wobble cushions, and bounce ball seats, students will be excited and empowered to read. There are many things my students have no control over like walking to school on their own, being in a community with high violence, and even what they wear to school since we require them to come in uniform. Why not give them the opportunity to choose where and how they sit in class?
