It is my goal to make it possible for the students starting in kindergarten to learn to play the xylophone and metallophone verses waiting until third grade. We do not have any Orff instruments (xylophones and metallophones) at the primary campus. We have a few drums, tambourines, and glockenspiels used for very small children. I do not have the means to transport the instruments from the intermediate campus to the primary since I teach at both campuses daily. If we could have a set of these instruments at the primary, the students would be able to do more hands on learning. They would also know how to play these instruments by the time they got to the intermediate, where we could learn and perform more challenges musical pieces.
