Our students will be able to try out for not only basketball and football but for volleyball and baseball as well. Sports are very important for our young people today. It builds not only physical attributes but also helps develop cognitive thinking, leadership, sportsmanship and character skills. Having more sports will help out students become better members of society and directly influence our district. This equipment will help our school district create new opportunities for our students that would normally not be available to them. I am requesting Bats to use during practice and games. The helmets are required to ensure that the player is safe from any type of head injury. Concussions among young athletes are on the rise and our district is working hard to reduce the risk to our athletes. The pitching machine will be use for batting practice. The pitching machine can continue to pitch good quality pitches to the players to increase their opportunity to improve their batting skills. These young men need more opportunities to learn leadership and character skills. Baseball is not the only answer, however it is a start for our students, in our endless pursuit of educating the whole child.
