I would love to incorporate more science and social studies into our day, as well as current events. I am trying to get my students to love reading. Scholastic magazines are engaging and have lots of pictures. They also include questions at the end. This would make a difference in my students learning because students need to be exposed to several different types of text- not just picture books. Each student would get their own magazines to keep in their book bins. When the next one arrives, they will get to take their magazine home. This is also helpful for my students who do not have many books at home.
