My school is an Urban K-2 school with a high enrollment of low income and high at-risk students, and I get the privilege to work will all 400 of them. When I took over the Librarian position the library was outdated and a dull place to hang out, I have been trying to make it a fun and exciting place for my students to come and read with me, so, I created a Superhero Library and my students love the decor I have made for them. The books in my library are getting old and they are looking their age, well worn with damaged covers, spines, pages, and even some missing pages. I would love to replace some of the books and even add some new up to date titles for my students to get excited to read and learn from. At my school I also keep our main hallway bulletin board fun and interactive, I create our school newsletter, make, organize and collect the Box Tops for Education collection sheets, Green Team Leader, I proctor all of our students during the NWEA window, and I run our AR reading program with a student tracker outside my door that the students really love to see their names grow higher with all the points they earn from reading. As you have read I am always going, going, going so any help you could provide would be so greatly appreciated not just by me but by the 400 readers who come into my library every day/week.
