Materials such as flexible seating, stuffed animals, putty, fidget toys, and coloring sheets will allow the children in my classroom to have a safe space to regulate their emotions. Most of the children in my class have some sort of emotional distress in their lives. With providing a space in where they can take a quick break, I feel they will be more successful in the classroom. By donating to our project you are helping the children immensely by providing strategies they can use to regulate their emotions and get back to learning. Too often I have seen children on the outside of the classroom by themselves. I want to build a sense of community for my class that portrays the idea that even if they are struggling, they still belong.
