We are requesting Learniture stools and a balance ball chair for seating options that are more comfortable and flexible so they can wobble while they work. I am trying to transform my classroom into an inviting learning space with flexible seating options. My students are very active and work best when they are able to move around and not have to sit at a desk and chair. I have noticed that many students choose to stand up at their desk, lay down on the carpet, or rock back and forth in their chairs as they work. By providing them with wobble stools, they will be able to get their wiggles out and wobble in their seats safely as they work. The Learniture Active Learning Stool is a safe option because is has a rubber bottom to reduce the risk of slipping. The learning stools will also help students to improve their posture as it helps to strengthen their core muscles as they sit! My goal of incorporating these flexible seating options is to increase students desire to learn, increase engagement, and to allow students a safe and productive way to get their wiggles out as they work. My hopes are that as students have a way to wiggle as they work they will be able to focus better and have less behavioral incidents.
