As urban middle school students in New York City, 6th grade may be the first time they are exposed to real hands on science. My population of co-ed 6th and 7th graders are are very curious budding scientists and enjoy all this subject has to offer. Our school is fortunate to have a science lab, but we are still in need of supplies to make our science lab come alive. The students love being in the lab and enjoy every chance they are offered to go do any type of experiment, even just a virtual one. Having a limited knowledge of science has not stopped them from wanting to learn as much as they can this year. Their efforts are showing every day!
