All of our students are fascinated by the piano and frequently ask questions about how to play and read music on the piano. Expanding our piano lab with the keyboard and headphone equipment in this project will allow more students extended practice time on the piano. Incorporating headphones allows students to take turns and practice independently during weekly music class lessons, thereby enabling our students to become more independent musicians and develop problem-solving skills as they practice. As our students develop these independent skills, they will also develop their self-efficacy as young musicians. By supporting student self-efficacy and independence, this project also connects to larger school-wide initiatives in Social and Emotional learning.

About my class
