My students need an ELMO document camera. The document camera would allow students to follow along with me during the math lesson, by projecting the book, worksheet, or dry erase board that I write on. Without the document camera, students have a hard time seeing during the lesson. The document camera would allow me to project onto the screen where all students would be able to see. When students are able to see, they are able to engage in the lesson! My students are learning 5th grade math, which is extremely rigorous. Students are learning to multiple fractions, solve problems with long division, algebra, and more. In order to really learn these skills, students need to be shown how to do these kinds of problems. The ELMO document camera would allow me to model solving these challenging problems for my students. In science, my students are learning how to conduct a controlled experiment, record results in a table, and make a graph to represent the data. The document camera would allow me to model making a graph, while they follow along and make their own graph. The document camera would be used during both math and science for two classes, a total of 58 students. Your contribution would have a huge impact on their learning during the half of the day that they spend with me.
