The students in my class are performing at instructional levels that range from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. Because of the vast span of learning levels, we often have multiple activities occurring simultaneously in our classroom. This can be very distracting, causing frustration levels to elevate. Headphones will allow class time to stop focusing on everyone else and start to focus on themselves and the work at hand. For students diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities, it can be very difficult to work during the time given in class, because there is so much stimulus. It causes them to lose focus and concentration.
